Note
This is the only time that the name of Robert Schumann appears in Gould's musical biography-presumably at the insistence of Columbia. We he also meant to record the Piano Quintet Op.44, which Leonard Bernstein plays on the B side...? Whatever the case, the session led to a full-blown rupture between Gould and the Juilliard Quartet.
