friednship with the cellist Leonard Rose
ever since they and the violinist Oscar
Shumsky were made musical directors of
Canada's Stratford Festival in 1956. "In
this particular case, I was very amenable
to trying to please Glenn stylistically. I
did not feel that at that time I was as
well acquainted with the music as was
Glenn." |
